Project Description: Clean up of the beautiful, but neglected and overgrown area of public right of way leading to the overlook and pavilion at Cascade Park. There is approximately 200 ft of sidewalk that is overgrown, some of which is entirely impassable. Furthermore, there are several adjacent patches of wild growth that are laden with trash. The park is well used and appreciated by local residents; it simply needs a little extra care in a few particularly challenging areas. With an organized application of volunteers, time, and effort, Cascade Park has the potential to re-establish itself as a treasured neighborhood locale. A single day of caring in the Cascade neighborhood can make a positive impact on the health and safety of the entire community.

Cleaning Special Volunteer Requirements: Volunteers must be comfortable with light to moderate yard work (raking, sweeping, picking up trash, weed removal etc). All necessary supplies and equipment will be provided.
Cleaning Other important information: Any refreshments/lunch will be provided by Neighborhood Housing Services as needed, depending on the time of day and actual project length. Inclement weather plans will be tentatively scheduled for the same day of the following week unless volunteers, staff, or others indicate a more appropriate different date/time. The Agency Contact (Jake Wagner) will be responsible for any and all details regarding inclement weather plans. They will be relayed to the volunteers via email and phone.

Come join North Country R.I.D.E. in the rebuilding of our fences! We have several hundred feet of fencing that needs to be repaired or replaced. Volunteers will be assisting in the building and repair of our pastures' fences. We also need help with pasture clean-up and painting/staining of various things around the facility. Volunteers are asked to wear clothing that is appropriate for the weather. Hat, jackets and gloves may be needed in cold weather. Long pants and boots or tennis shoes are required. Please no sandals or open-toe shoes. Please bring work gloves and safety glasses if you have them. All other tools/materials will be provided by North Country R.I.D.E. Volunteers may be asked to do some light lifting and should be able to walk on uneven ground without issue.

We would like to create a "closet" of basic hygiene supplies and clothing in youth sizes 16-18 that would be suitable to wear to an job interview to help facilitate a successful return to the community. The Arrowhead Juvenile Center Serves youth ages 12-18 in need of secure detention and through treatment programming. We believe in holding youth accountable for their actions and creating opportunities to make changes and become successful.
